Joanna LogueArtist StatementAs a landscape painter who usually responds to remote rural environments the urbanized nature of Coogee Bay presented unusual creative challenges. I found the harsh geometry of telegraph poles, fences, park benches, pathways and council signage jarring on the eye and discordant with the natural beauty of the beach and surrounding parklands. With this series of paintings I have investigated shapes and patterns evident when the organic juxtaposes the hard edges of man made geometry. I have responded in a direct and honest way to the immediate locale, letting ‘life’ throw up interesting visual Joanna Logue: CV SOLO EXHIBITIONS 1999 - Michael Nagy Fine Art, Sydney 2000 - Axia Modern Art, Melbourne 2000 - Michael Nagy Fine Art, Sydney 2001 - Axia Modern Art, Melbourne 2002 - Axia Modern Art, Melbourne 2003 - Tim Olsen Gallery, Sydney 2004 - Axia Modern Art, Melbourne 2004 - Tim Olsen Gallery, Sydney 2005 - Tim Olsen Annex, Sydney “Parks” 2006 - Tim Olsen Gallery, Sydney 2007 - Bathurst Regional Gallery, Bathurst “Gimpse” 2007 - Tim Olsen Annex ‘New work’ 2007 - Gadfly Gallery, Perth COLLECTIONS Ampol Collection, Art Bank, Australian Metal Holdings Ltd, Australian Property Network, Baker & McKenzie, Barclays Bank, Burns Philp Ltd, Cornell University/Kurrajong Hotel ACT, Mann Judd Pty Ltd, Fluor Daniel Australia Pty Ltd, Mirvac, , Qantas, Walker Corporation Ltd, Australian Institute of Management, Australian Art Investment Trust, Rand Corporation, WT Partnership, McKinsey & Co, Vaughan Construction, The Art Trust, NRMA, Pracom, Parncutt Acton, Patt Corrigan Collection, Macquarie Bank, NSW University, Country Energy, Bathurst Regional Art Gallery.
