Chris Antico

Artist Statement:

Being a surfer I had never really gotten down to Coogee Beach; NO WAVES!But I had always recognized the difference to the city’s other ocean beaches with its deep, protected waters and many swimming baths. Walking along the promenade I feel the pull of the bygone summer and its offering of the weird and wonderful; much of it still laying in wait, framed between the fishing dinghies tucked into the north shoulder of the beach, anchoring the WEDDING CAKE to its very spot, to the criss-cross of wooden beams making up Wylie’s Baths.
